What a Texas facility license requires

Under Health & Safety Code Chapter 401, Subchapter M, a licensed facility must have a certified laser hair removal professional (or a licensed health professional whose board allows it) present to supervise procedures during operating hours, a written contract with a consulting physician who sets and audits its protocols, FDA-approved devices used at hair-removal settings, a posted warning sign with TDLR's contact details, and a written statement of risks for every customer. Everyone performing the procedure must hold a TDLR certificate unless an exemption applies. See the Texas rules.

Before your first session: confirm this license on TDLR's search, ask the certificate level of the person treating you and who is supervising, and make sure you get a written risk statement and eye protection.
